People often come to counselling because of the difficult experiences that they have been going through. Though the word counselling covers many skills, my aim is to give people the space to explore difficult emotions, to gain an authentic connection with who they are and to reach their emotional, social and physical potentials.
Counselling often explores how people understand their lives. I’m not the expert in your life that is something only you can define. People come to counselling with all sorts of hurts, betrayals, strong emotions, confusions, sadness, loss and bewilderment. Often counselling is a presence, listening, reflection, the ability to sit with difficult emotions, to empathize with, to assist and to be respectful to the clients’ unique life and history as well as their unique being.
The importance of establishing a safe caring and trusting relationship is to assist people into a supportive exploration of their concerns. I strive to assist people seeking to understand their emotions, their perspectives and desires for clarity, freedom and meaning.
Culturally, individually and socially, I believe it is often important for all of (or at least many of us) to seek assistance and to have a place to take a step back and take time and care for ourselves. I hope to be able to help people to safely identify, express and work through their concerns and difficulties in living.
I have a Master Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP accredited). Please look at my psychotherapy page for an understanding of my main influences that go deeper into techniques beyond more explorative and supportive work.
Please email in the contact below to book a time our mutual convenience, if I am able to assist you, and if not I can refer people to a suitable form of assistance.
The cost for an hour Counselling session is £40, which is pre-paid for Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Viber or Facebook Messenger.
