About Me

My name is Adam and I am a Qualified in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling (MA Integrative Counselling, PGPip Hypno-Psychotherapy, BSc Psychology), my interest in psychology has been lifelong.  I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have trained under United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy.

My employment background is in the charity and public sector in advocacy, equal opportunities, disabilities and advice.  I enjoy working with a range of clients and have enjoyed many of my roles in advocacy and strive for personal development.  I offer counselling and training in various charity sector organisations. I have been an active political campaigner in the UK. Now I am travelling the world, meaning I use online therapy, whilst I explore new places.

I have a Hypno-Psychotherapy Diploma with Distinction, awarded by The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, which is recognised as one of the leading postgraduate training colleges in Europe and one of the only UKCP accredited colleges, an envied accolade.

I received a Distinction in my Hypnotherapy Diploma, with high distinctions in my practical exams and my dissertation (JP Morgan National Hypnotherapy Award 2009).  My dissertation was on integrating psychodrama with hypnotherapy (hypnodrama) and how imaginative techniques could enhance communicative hypnotherapy. I self-publish creative writing and hypnotherapy and relaxation downloads.

I completed significant voluntary hours for my Master Degree (University of Manchester), one of the only BACP accredited fully integrative psychotherapy courses.  I have a wide range of practice with various client groups.  I specialise with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, identity concerns, LGBT issues, phobia and many other issues.

I also have a PGDip in Creative Writing and a Chartered Institute Personnel Development membership.  I frequently attend short courses to discover new skills and influences to assist in my work. I also have done short courses in life coaching, IBS hypnotherapy, human sexuality including LGBTQ issues, motivational coaching, skilled helping work at the Citizens Advice Bureau as a volunteer advisor.

I feel my drive towards counselling has been in overcoming significant life challenges and having had experiences that have gained me the empathy and concern to work with clients’ distress and challenges.  This also comes out of my desire to give back to people struggling and coping with difficult situations in the hope that I can assist people in finding some freedom, self-discovery and peace.
